Iran increases red meat production by 44% in June-July '20

Iran has increased its domestic red meat production output between June 20 - July 21, by 44%, and reaches 36,2 KMT.
Beef accounts for more than 56% of the total production while lamb meat share is 34% with 12,4 KMT.
Iran imports around 50 KMT which approximately 7% of the total domestic demand however, due to the Covid-19 outbreak the country has seen a consumption decreased by almost 60%.
The pandemic has caused an increase by 15% in the livestock population making it 75 million in total.
