Iran has been increasing its fishery production output in recent years and last year's output was 1.28 million tons with the main product groups being trout, common carp, caviar, and caviar making fish. The country is planning to increase the output by 7% in the current fiscal year and reach 1.38 million tons. Iran's fish exports last year were 146 KMT valued at $539 million and the imported fish were 29 KMT valued at $99 million.
