Iran was the top importer by volume of Canadian soybeans from January through September 2020, according to Statistics Canada data. Canada shipped 383,000 MT of soybeans to Iran worth $181 million. While the news comes as a bit of a surprise, Canada has been looking for new markets after a political dispute shuttered all shipments to the former largest importer, China, in 2018.
