Coffee production has come to the fore in Turkey

In recent years, coffee production has come to the fore with the cultivation of tropical fruit species in the Mediterranean region. As the production of passion fruit and dragon fruit became legal, a rapid transition to tropical fruit production was achieved. Nowadays, Akdeniz University and BATEM have taken action for the coffee production, which they did research years ago but could not bring to a conclusion due to the lack of technical equipment and technologies with the project they started together. The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry also supports this project. Small-scale coffee producers and lecturers are conducting experimental studies on coffee production within the project's scope.
