Italian demand for Dried Grapes is increasing, yet prices remain a problem. Italy increased its import of dried grapes from Turkey within the 2022 season by 36% compared to the same period within the 2021 season. However, several suppliers claim there is even more demand for Turkish Sultanas in the Italian market, but the price is an issue to agree on. Currently, the Italian market averages USD 1,750 per MT for dried grape imports from Turkey, which is below average despite the high-quality products EU demands. Turkish suppliers are not willing to decrease prices due to the uncertainties of the local market.
