Meanwhile, the smallholders are worried that such prosperity will not last long. Although the price of oil palm reached USD 1906.81 per MT for the first time on 1 March, the price of fertilizers and pesticides has soared, coupled with the lack of workers. The price of fertilizer has continued to soar, showing a doubling rate compared year on year, uncertainty in oil palm price raise many concerns among the industry players.
