Lentil prices on the rise caused by local currency gaining value and pre-Ramadan demand

The prices of red lentils recently increased mainly due to the Turkish lira gaining value against the US dollar.
Another major reason for the high lentil prices is the approaching Ramadan holiday season when the product is used as one of the main cooking ingredients in different dishes in Turkish cuisine.
