Lime availability in Greece has fluctuated for the past 20 days, with unstable product quality. The market is dominated by imported limes from the Netherlands, Brazil, and Mexico. However, since late June, Brazilian limes have been downgraded in value due to their yellowish appearance caused by low temperatures and rainy weather in Brazil. This situation has created a favorable market for visually appealing green skin limes, priced at around USD 7.50/4.5kg, and these prices are expected to rise to around USD 9.00/4.5kg during the peak vacation period in July. Half yellow-half green limes offer a stable alternative, priced at around USD 6.00/4.5kg. Additionally, there is an abundance of Category 2 soft fruit available for juice production, priced at approximately USD 0.45/kg, which has resulted in congestion within the juice industry.
