Low Blue Swimming Crab Production in Bahrain and Tunisia Makes It Difficult to Meet Market Demand in W4

Tunisian and Bahrain exporters of Blue Swimming Crabs are receiving increased demands for crab meat from the Far East markets. Exporters cannot meet the demand in W4 because of the low landings of the larger sizes of crabs. However, they expect good landings by April 2023 for better production of crab shells. The current situation will likely impact the pricing for the whole round and cut crabs as the supply decreases. With the market picking up after the lunar new year holidays, the exporters expect better pricing for their bookings in February 2023.
