The 2023 fresh apricot yield expectation is considerably down compared to previous years in Malatya, one of Turkey's main apricot producing cities. The damage is about 75% in this year's apricot production with the apricot harvest expected to be around 80K MT in Malatya. The apricots in the plains of Malatya were damaged by frost, and some of them did not yield due to poor pollination of the trees. Additionally, there is flower rot in many trees and the emergence of some diseases. As a result, a low apricot yield is inevitable in the 2023 season. In 2022, the annual production yield in the city was 330K MT.
