One of South Africa's leading mango producers is expecting a smaller harvest than usual. This is due to hail and early fruit drops, along with agricultural conversion to citrus. However, they expect a robust local demand, therefore being hesitant to export due to late rains resulting in wetter fruit and a higher risk of rotting in transit.
