Milk production costs are increasing while the purchase prices remain low

The risks posed by the stable raw milk prices despite increasing production costs draw attention in the milk sector. When rising costs are taken into account, loss-making producers continue to send their broodstock animals for slaughter. The instability in the raw milk market also puts red meat production at risk.

In Turkey, where food inflation is going through a difficult period, the current situation seems challenging for the producers, who suffer greatly from this gap between producer costs and consumer prices.
