Decreased Exports of Smooth Cayenne Pineapples in Kenya Due to Low Sugar Content

The export volume of Smooth Cayenne pineapple in Kenya has decreased considerably due to the low sugar content not meeting the export standards. The cold weather in some pineapple producing regions have contributed to the reduced sugar content. Exports are expected to recover around August 2022. On the other hand, the Smooth Cayenne hybrid/MD2 exports are not affected.
