Lower Demand for Imported Corn Starch and Potato Starch in Indonesia Due to High Exchange Rate

The exchange rate reached USD 1 for Rp 15,500 in W44 in Indonesia. Consequently many buyers are recalculating the cost of imported corn starch and potato starch. Most buyers are finding alternative sources domestically to lower production costs. As a result potato and corn starch importers, who normally import around 2–3 FCLS/ month, are expected to import about 1 FCL/month due to low demand.
