According to Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board after a record year in 2020, in November 2021 production was the lowest of the past five years. As result, average GB daily deliveries in the period 1-18 December were running 3.7% below previous year levels.

Similar trends were observed at global level. For instance, in October the production volume was less in all the key regions except Argentina and the US. As result, the decrease of wholesale prices characteristic for holiday period did not happen this December and concerning milk, the high price had caused a lesser share of milk to be manufactured as other products. Meanwhile, as costs of feed, fuel and fertilizer, continue to move upwards, price increase of the dairy products in the nearest future is expected.
