Lower production yield and higher prices of sunflower seed in Bulgaria

Droughts and unfavorable weather conditions haven't allowed good yield of sunflower seed and corn this harvest season in Bulgaria.

There are 1.22 million tons of sunflower (oil type) seeds harvested as of 10th of September which represents a decline of 16% compared to the same period last year.

Corn production stands at 735K MT in the same period and also represents a decline of 27% compared to last year. The oil-type of sunflower seed wholesale prices vary between EUR 405 - EUR 436 per ton.
