The Kenyan Ministry of Agriculture in cooperation with the Union of Flour Traders announced a temporary reduction in the prices of maize flour products, which more than halved the price of maize flour for consumers. The measure aims to deal with the rising cost of living that has seen prices of basic commodities such as maize flour soar. The new governmentally subsidized prices are as follows: USD 0.25/1/2kg (KES 30) USD 0.44/1kg (KES 52) USD 0.84/2kg (KES 100) USD 2.10/5kg (KES 250) USD 4.11/10kg (KES 490) USD 18.88/50kg (KES 2250)
