The price of Malaysian frozen Musang King durian dropped significantly due to the high yield in the December 2022 season and the arrival of imported Vietnamese durian into the Chinese market. In February 2023, the selling price for Musang King Durian (Grade A) stood at USD 102.16-109.46/10kg box (CNY 700-750/10kg box). Despite the price increase for Thai Monthong fresh durian, Malaysian Musang King's price is unlikely to increase. Further, Philippine durian was allowed for export to China on January 7, 2023. In the future, there will be four origins of durian in the Chinese market. In 2022, China imported about 82KMT of durians from Southeast Asia, valued at about USD 4.2B. Below is the market share of durian in the Chinese market: Thailand: 85% Malaysia: 10% Vietnam: 5%
