Mango in Sudan has economic importance being produced almost all year round in every state of the country and then being locally consumed and exported. The mango cultivation area in Sudan was estimated to be about 2,814,000 ha with about 57 cultivars reported to exist in Sudan. They are categorized into three groups: 1. True Indian cultivars 2. Egyptian seedling cultivars of Indian origin such as Zibda, Alphons, Malgoba and Hindibesinara, 3. Sudanese seedling cultivars of Indian origin of high quality including Shendi, Taimoor, Nailm, Mabroka, Debsha and the famous sort Abu Samaka.
