Fresh Apple Prices in the Indian Wholesale Market During W34

During August 22 and 24, 2023, the wholesale apple market in Delhi, India, witnessed price fluctuations and arrivals from different regions. In Himachal, Kullu saw the arrival of 27 to 28 trucks with prices ranging from USD 30.28/25kg 5-layer pack (INR 2,500/25kg) to USD 16.35/26kg 6-layer pack (INR 1,350/26kg). Meanwhile, Shimla received 150 trucks, offering Red Gold (RG) at INR 1000-1300 for good color, INR 2400 for a 5-layer 25 kg pack, and INR 1350 for a 6-layer 26 kg pack.

On August 24, the market witnessed Shimla offering Royal apples at
USD 6.65 to 32.70/25kg 5-layer pack (INR 2,200 to 2,700/25kg), of good quality. Royal Gala apples stood at USD 15.75 to 16.96/26kg 6-layer pack (INR 1,300 to 1,400/26kg). Kashmir's Gala apples were priced at USD 18.17 to 21.80/25kg 5-layer pack (INR 1,500 to 1,800/25kg). However, Shimla's apple arrivals were adversely affected by heavy rains and landslides.
