Tomato price soaring in South Africa

During the last two months, South Africa has experienced heavy rains, widespread flooding, and thunderstorms across major growing regions. This, in combination with already limited market supply this year, has led to a 21% price increase for consumers to ZAR5.40 per kg (USD 0.30 per kg) solely in the last week.
