Persian Lime producers from the northern region of Veracruz, were severely affected by Hurrican Grace which hit the area in Mid-August 2021, and even as this hurricane caused landfall around two and a half months ago, it damaged crops that were to be harvested by November 2021. The Persian lime production from northern Veracruz will be only 60% than what was expected for upcoming November, and from that decimated amount only 30 to 40% will be able to comply with Quality USDA #1. There will be higher demand from the US and Canada while products from Mexico exporters decrease, and ultimately it will lead to gradually higher farmgate prices.
