The price of MG3 variety pineapple suckers increased by 3- 5% compared to the pre-pandemic record. MG3 variety suckers were exported to Southeast Asian countries before the pandemic at $0.32 to $0.35 per sucker. The aggressive expansion of corporate growers in the Philippines and the demand in other Southeast Asian countries caused the price increase.
