More regulation can be imposed on lemon import in 2022

Imported lemon might see gradual easing in import quota approvals, as locally grown common lemon (eureka var.) is becoming more available. Farmers in Java are submitting harvest with gradually matching resemblance to imported lemon's characteristics. Market acceptance has been steadily increasing, despite an ever-presence of slow logistics affecting freshness and pricing.

Consumption of lemon in big cities and HORECA segments are growing steadily, with an estimated demand of at least 500 MT annually. Indonesia's government is putting efforts to reduce import dependence by adjusting import quota approval, but importers have continually criticized the government.
