Myanmar areca nut price slightly increases due to festival in Myanmar

Even though the India-Myanmar border is still closed, the local price of Myanmar betel nut has increased slightly. In October, the local price of old betel nut rises up from MMK 4,000 per viss up to MMK 4,600 and new betel nut from the previous price of MMK 2000 to MMK 2,700. The Bayint Naung Wholesale Market Association said the price increase is mainly attributed to the Thidingyut Festival in Myanmar and the price will stabilize come December.
