After the coup, most of the shipping lines to Yangon are terminated or postponed, and it is very difficult to export rice via the sea trade route. The military-owned companies are connecting with neighboring countries such as China and Bangladesh for exporting rice via border trading. As the Burmese currency decreases in its purchasing power, the exported price can compete with the Indian rice in March 2021.
