The Potato late blight disease destroyed over 32 thousand hectares (ha) of potato farms in Plateau state last year, posing a threat to Nigeria's food security, as the National Root Crop Research Institute (NRCRI) revealed. This discovery occurred during a Green Field Day event at the Faculty of Agriculture, Plateau State University Bokkos in W39. The event's objective is to promote the adoption of new technologies and Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) in specific crops, ultimately leading to higher yields and sustainable income for farmers. Additionally, the event fosters the exchange of knowledge and experiences among farmers, extension workers, and researchers.
