2022 is a good harvest year of Chinese Garlic. Due to a very big yield volume, China reefer stored garlic price had a round of sharp decrease, 60% down from last October until now. This is very good news for export. In 2022, Chinese garlic export prices will be more competitive. Meanwhile, sea freight also decreased sharply. Compared to March, sea freight from Qingdao port to UAE dropped by 29% and to Colombia dropped by 24%. In 2021, due to high sea freight, many foreign buyers changed garlic origin to their neighbors instead of China. However, in 2022, they may come back to China for a lower cost, especially from Brazil. In 2021, Brazil's imports from China dropped by 70%, but Chinese-origin garlic will attract them back.
