To empower the local farmers in some areas in West Java, the government of Indonesia has recently donated around 2 MT worth of milkfish and shrimp seed to be produced in the mangrove forest in the area. There is around 25 Hectare of mangrove forests in this area which can be used for a natural farm for shrimp and milkfish. The first harvest is expected to happen sometimes in October or November 2020, with production output, to be used to accommodate the demand from the local market, as well as providing alternative sourcing solutions for local exporters in the area to complement the supply of fresh shrimp and milkfish.
