New Zealand ice cream export trends in 2021

New Zealand ice cream exports have fluctuated in recent years with the highest export value of over NZD 70 million and volume of over 13 million kg between 2020 and the first half of 2021.
Australia, China, Japan, Hong Kong and Tonga are the key export markets for New Zealand ice cream, but a few others are making a serious mark by joining the top 10 countries and as a result New Zealand ice cream revenue is looking to reach close to NZ$ 531 million by 2026.
Due to some healthy alternatives presenting themselves, plant-based ice cream products attributed to 7.5% of global ice cream product launches in 2020/21 and will continue to rise for some time.
