Norwegian Cold-Water Shrimp Exports Surged in May-24

Norway, known for its thriving seafood industry, exported 5,138 metric tons (mt) of cold-water shrimp worth USD 19.18 million in May-24, marking significant growth in the market. This represented an 82% increase in value and a remarkable 265% increase in volume compared to May-23. Iceland, Sweden, and Canada were the main export destinations for Norwegian shrimp. Additionally, cooked and frozen shrimp worth USD 4.4 million were exported, with a significant portion going to Ukraine, Denmark, and Morocco. Fresh shell-on shrimp exports also reached a record high, surpassing the previous year's record by USD 440,004.
