In an attempt to mitigate the increase in costs and increase the price of eggs again, the egg producers in Brazil continue to reduce their stock. In January, the number of laying chicks in Brazil reached 8,884 million heads, representing 20% fewer chickens compared to January last year. The scenario started last year, with the inability of the domestic and foreign markets to absorb production, which caused a surplus in production and a consequent drop in price, coupled with a significant increase in costs leading to the slaughter of chickens with less production.
