In Japan, major manufacturers of cooking oil reported that there will be a price rise in June. For Olive Oil, the price will rise by USD 0.94-1.25/kg. Companies explained rising fuel cost and the rate of exchange makes it hard to keep the current prices. While retailers follow this price rise, they started to consider new sources of imported Olive Oil. Retailers have been importing Olive Oil mainly from Spain. Now some retailers are receiving more offers from Greece and Turkey than before.
