Onion market pullbacks prices but demand still retracts.

During the last week, producers from Santa Catarina state raised farmgate prices in the region to ¢50 per kg. With bidding demand falling short of average price, this week registered a drop of 4%, rebounding at ¢ 0.48 per kg. Sellers are attentive to the Argentine incoming prices, even though recent trades were not reported. These factors eventually led to market downswings during the last week. Also, some buyers have been taking away their position in Argentina and opening space for Chilean and Spanish origins due to specifics.

Back to the national produce, and in quality terms, black mold incidence is low, with most of the bulbs to have been already sold or wasted due to the shorter shelf life.
