South Korean market was an important target for the Turkish suppliers along with the Chinese market, however, Turkish exporters were unable to make a way in this important target market. Stern competition from the cherries imported from the United States along with the size and fumigation problems resulted in only one company being able to export products to this market in the last 2 years. The companies who exported there in previous years chose to withdraw from the market temporarily in order not to damage their brand name despite heavy interest for their products from Korean supermarket chains.
