According to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), the United States (US) apple production season for 2023/24 is notably favorable compared to last year, with a year-over-year (YoY) increase of approximately 1.5%. US apples hold a prominent position as a primary and traditional imported fruit in the Vietnamese market. The timing of the US apple season aligns well with Vietnam's peak consumption period. These apples are favored for local and specialized occasions such as Lunar October's full moon, New Year, and January's full moon. In W48, the average wholesale price for Gala apples sized C90/100/110 stood at USD 54 to 57 per 18 kilogram (kg). With this pricing and ample supply, a successful performance of the US apple season in the Vietnamese market is anticipated.
