Due to a year of overwhelming production, Portuguese producers have no storage space or even go to in what comes to this production’s pomace. One of the Portuguese companies in Alentejo, Fenazeites states that it is over 30% in its total reception capacity and will be forced to export if possible to Spain as it had no permission from the Portuguese authorities to expand its facilities. Some olive oil mills have now stopped receiving raw materials due to these same reasons. What was expected to be a dream year in production is now becoming a nightmare.
