Projected Increase in Pacific Salmon Catch and Prices in Kamchatka Territory for 2024

According to the Industry Council for Fishery Forecasting under the Federal Fisheries Agency, the expected Pacific salmon catch in Kamchatka Territory for 2024 is set at 167.3 thousand tons. This includes 106.1 thousand tons of pink salmon, 25.8 thousand tons of chum salmon, 25.4 thousand tons of sockeye salmon, 9.5 thousand tons of coho salmon, 10 tons of salmon, and 450 tons of chinook salmon. In 2023, the catch in Kamchatka Territory was 383 thousand tons. Meanwhile, prices for pink salmon and other salmon types are expected to be much higher in 2024 than last year.
