Although UAE is emerging as the biggest market for Pakistani onions and potatoes, suppliers are unhappy with UAE buyers mainly because of payment issues. Buyers mostly work on a consignment and DA basis. Once the cargo reaches the destination, buyers refuse to make payments by claiming that products are not in the best condition and start re-negotiating the prices with suppliers. Buyers refuse to make full payment causing trouble for the suppliers and leaving them with no option other than to accept the amount that the buyers are willing to pay.
