In the last week of October, Paraguay presented official documentation to achieve authorization and thus be able to access the Canadian market in 2021. Paraguay´s interest focuses on chilled and frozen bovine cuts. It is estimated that Canada annually purchases about 70K tons of chilled meat, worth USD 500M, in addition to 55K tons of frozen meat for about USD 220M.

It is known that the United States and Mexico are the main suppliers of this market since they were granted duty-free sales, however, Canada is an attractive destination for meat from South American countries.
