Turkish pasta exporters have been seeking alternative solutions to deal with the ever-increasing costs to the United States market which damaged their competitive position in the marketplace. Due to the import quota on Turkish pasta by European Union, Turkish pasta exporters focus their effort to the markets outside of the EU where the United States remains the most attractive export destination.

Some companies have shifted their efforts to the Middle Eastern countries whereas one major pasta company purchased its own ship just to transport its products to the United States.
