Turkish pasta manufacturers increase export prices by approximately USD 100 per MT. FOB Mersin prices were about USD 750 per MT in February, but prices are at the level of USD 850 per MT in March. Manufacturers state that not being able to import from Ukraine and Russia, they had to buy from Canada and South America, which cost them higher freight rates. Previously Turkish Government had announced that Turkey had enough wheat supply mainly for domestic consumption, not for export. On the other hand, Turkey remains competitive as Italian-origin pasta prices are over USD 1.000 per MT FOB.
