In 2022, even though frost affected a few production basins at the end of March or the beginning of April, the damage remained limited in Greece, Italy and France, countries which should return to production levels close to their potential. On the other hand, Spain, which had been relatively spared by frost in 2021, was particularly affected and in particular the production regions of northern Spain such as Aragon and Catalonia. With just under 2,270,000 mt of peaches, flat peaches and nectarines, European production should be 15% higher than in 2021, but still 19% lower than the 2016/2020 average. Faced with the lack of consumption, some producing regions are forced to stop production a fortnight earlier than usual. The South-West and the South-East are currently stopping the harvest. In general, the producers who will have come out of it the best are those who were the earliest in the campaign.
