Peanut harvest looking optimistic with satisfactory farmgate prices in Turkey

The region of Osmaniye of Turkey is responsible for over 90% of the total domestic peanut production and farmers are expecting a good yield this year thanks to favorable weather conditions. The expectation is to have 200 MT of peanut harvest while last year the total harvest was 169 KMT. The average production yield is 400-500 kg per decare and farmers are quite happy with the farmgate price which is around $1.35 per kg.
