The National Agrarian Health Service - Senasa, established the phytosanitary requirements for the importation of fresh mandarin and orange fruits from Spain.

The fruit must be subjected to cold treatment in accordance with the provisions of the work plan for the export of fresh mandarin and orange fruits from Spain to Peru. In addition, it must come from places of production and packing plants registered and certified by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA) of Spain.

In the case of air transport, each box or pallet must be protected by mesh with a diameter of less than 1.6 x 1.6 mm or any other material that mitigates the entry of pests after export inspection. Each box or pallet must be sealed and the number of seals must be indicated on the phytosanitary certificate.

Spanish fruit does not compete with the local producers since their import occurs in low seasons for the Peru.
