Peruvian Amaranth exports increase over 300% YoY

Peruvian exports of amaranth from January to September 2020 represented $4.1 million of FOB value and 1,284 mt, meaning an increase of +364% in value and +309% in volume compared to the same period last year. The average price reported during this period was 3.19 FOB US$/Kg. Having its highest levels in 2020 to be spotted at 3.76 FOB US$/Kg in March.

The most important markets were United States with 26% market share valued in US$ 1,076 millions, followed by Japan with 25% market share valued in US$ 1,014 millions.
