Peruvian Avocado Exports to the US Surged by 25% WoW in W25 Amid Michoacan Ban

According to Peruvian exporters, the volume of avocados exported during W25 to the United States (US) was expected to be approximately 310 Free Load Containers (FLC), representing a 25% week-on-week (WoW) increase from the 248 containers exported in W24. This surge in volume occurred just before the ban on Michoacan's avocados entering the US due to security concerns. However, exporters anticipate the issue will be resolved by W26. The field price for avocados remains high at around USD 1.62 per kilogram (kg) for calibers over 150 grams (g) since W22, a significant increase compared to last year when the price was around USD 1.10/kg for calibers over 160g.
