Due to difficulties faced by a number of suppliers to export fresh live seafood during the pandemic, and government lockdown, specifically in Cebu City, exporters in the Philippines are experimenting on exporting value-added products, such as canned shrimp paste or shrimp sauce. They are expecting to export to countries in Southeast Asia first before venturing into the American or European market this year 2020.
