Farmers from the Brazilian state of Parana are used to the soybean/ maize crop rotation. This year, few farmers made pilot trials with varieties of beans (cranberry, cowpea, green mungbean, and pinto beans), which resulted in positive yield. Their only concern is how to secure a solid market to sell/export and how to lock the prices in advance, or at least part of it, so that they are not exposed to the market price fluctuations.
