Pork production in Paraguay has increased between 40% to 50% in the last 5 years. One of the main local producers, increasing its production from 1000 slaughtering per month to 1400 slaughtering per month. The main markets are Brazil and Uruguay, but they work with several countries in Africa. In Africa, they work more on specific orders, and they do not yet have predetermined cuts, but they make offers on each needs from bacon, meat with bone, and without bone, etc.

The possibility of growth is high, due to the productive cycle of the pig compared to the cycle of beef. Furthermore, with the high availability of grains, mainly corn, the conditions are ripe for the pork industry to continue to grow more and more. It is expected that, with the increase in production, prices will be more competitive in the region.
